I agree with you, it's unlikely we'll develop discipline in a short time, especially if we want to apply it to something big. Start with the smallest things first, whatever they may be. If we can already be disciplined in small things, then we can gradually apply it to bigger things, and so on. It's easier to instill discipline from childhood, but the problem is that sometimes many of us realize our lack of discipline only after we're adults. But that's not a problem, whatever age we're aware of it, the better, although it would have been even better if we realized it sooner.
