I have never heard any information about pi coin being scam or not, but have seen people doing their kyc and whatever, though there was time I heard it was also listed but since I didn't have any picoin neither did I even mine it when others were mining it. It was never listed. I think you've seen it with Huobi listing PI. But that's not the actual PI coin that these people are getting crazy for. What's listed on huobi is a PI IOU and that's why even if it has been traded there and there's a price already, no one can deposit it there. So it never comes out and no one will ever be able to deposit from outside because it's an IOU.
