I agree with you. I live in a country which is rich in natural resources, has a balanced climate all year long and is geographically vast. Still, it's a third world country, famous for its corruption, low educational levels and high poverty rates. The problem is definitely the poor management by authorities. However, they aren't the only ones to be blamed, because they are only authorities because the people of the country chose them for that function through democratic elections. And even if the people had chosen a rival politician for that spot, it wouldn't make any difference at all, because the whole political system is composed of the same (bad) quality. The system is doomed to failure, while natural resources are just being wasted and stolen...
