Its possible just improbable. In the finance world its not unheard of but as you said the reward is not as it seems and most of the time people will blow themselves up. Coming from gambling there is a cross over in the attitudes and results of taking such risks in hope of these level of rewards. The big irony that seems to occur is that people don't want to win all the time, or in some way a person will self sabotage but outside of that human flaw, I would say its not impossible to get a million or more by the time you are 30. Compound gains, risk arbitrage, leveraged results and just the simple fact of being in the right place right time or luck as we might call it; all these are possible. The biggest negatives must be risk managed, a loss on any one day should not impede your overall ability to profit from your talent with gains over years; 10 years is enough to get a million I guess. Not something I've ever achieved but I know and seen enough that some do get these results, lucky people to have it all together in their twenties.
