Because if you first encounter this thread and see your trust, people may have hesitations to join on this project. I think you need to rectify first your issue so you can appeal to remove the negative trust. Anyway, plagiarism is common thing for new projects because mostly, they are not starting from scratch. But anyway, if you are pretty sincere in moving forward, you can prove that you have the capability to deliver a better platform here. We didn't have a good start because of the source code but now we make it stable and will dedicate the time to make a good whitepaper, anyway the team member who done it I trusted to be capable to do that (at least he said he is experienced, I didn't know he is experienced to screw up projects ) and didn't check it for plagiarism, it was anyway removed from the team and I will do it by myself this time, after 2 months since we start the project I get now the necessary knowledge.
