Reason being that there are people who could funds about $1m in their account to trade while there are people who may likely funds 100$ to their account while trading, and if using same lot size as their copier don't you think that person could get liquidated? Copy trading is not always good if you cannot copy the trading of someone who is really an expert in trading then in that case you will suffer a lot of losses because the trading you are copying may be trading with a very small amount of money but if you put a large amount of money there, even if he loses a small amount, you will lose a very large amount. And those whose ROI is seen in the portfolio are mainly trading with high leverage with small amounts due to which they are liquidated as well as making profits. So it is not a big deal for his liquidation but you will be a victim of a very large loss by copying his trades so I think it is better not to do copy trading. Any trader whose only strategy is copy trading is not fit to be considered a real trader. He is more like a gambler who is risking his money on the probability that the patterns of the expert trader works for him. If those patterns don't work, he loses and vice versa.
