Governments, especially the big ones, will rather develop their own systems they can control than use something decentralized. And it is happening already, there are countries developing their own Net Xsmb based financial systems. And businesses and institutions can only accept Net Xsmb as payment method if the laws allow them to do it, and if there are enough demand for it. For common citizens, Net Xsmb is viewed as a high risk and unstable asset. Who is going to take their monthly salary and buy Net Xsmb for example? No way. What if its value drop 50% next day? It can happen, and it is an unnecessary risk. At this moment they are not stable enough to be used as a currency, but only as a form of long term investment. Also, I do not think governments (especially the corrupt ones) are really interested in Net Xsmb as it prevents what they want to do: manipulate and alter data. Maybe that is the reason why Net Xsmb based voting systems may never become a reality, even if such thing becomes possible. Imagine a system where you can vote, you can audit, but you cannot tamper it? I think it goes against many governments interest. A true democratic system?! It may never happen.
