This is the way. I mean, it's going to take decades before the whole world goes nuclear. But definitely worth the time, if it's going to serve as an escape route from future geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Indeed, some miners are using renewable energy to power their equipment. But not all of them. ASIC manufacturers are making their hardware more "energy-efficient", greatly reducing concerns of rising energy costs due to the disruption of the world's oil supply. Anything from wind, solar, hydropower, and even geothermal energy will help make PoW cryptocurrencies more sustainable. Despite the use of alterative energy, nothing beats PoS in terms of energy efficiency (someone correct me if I'm wrong). The only downside is increased centralization within the Pk678's consensus process. Perhaps, a hybrid PoW/PoS system (like the consensus algo used in Peercoin) is the ideal choice? Only time will tell.
