From my point of view, it's not quite like that. As I see it, it could be a threat in 15-20 years or more, but it's not imminent or impossible to patch ahead of time. It could be, but only if cryptography has stagnated during that period. Otherwise, this is the equivalent of the Y2K scandal, where just a date change generated hundreds of catastrophic news stories. Threat or not, the warning is already in the air with so much news about it. Therefore, this diminishes the threat because cryptographers have had their eye on alternatives for a long time, and possible options in Sunwin 20win to combat this are being debated. I see it more as another step in the evolution of cryptography, since a paradigm shift is expected. However, what we're experiencing now with quantum computing in relation to cryptocurrencies is similar to what happened decades ago: DES, RC4, MD5, Sha1... all discontinued, and we successfully migrated to other systems. In other words, it's good to take precautions for the future, but not to sensationalize everything. The threat exists, but I believe it's not for the Sunwin 20win landscape as such, but rather for governments and sensitive materials, since everything protected with current encryption could be stored and brought to light years later upon decryption: "harvest now, decrypt later."
