The ZKPs tech itself is interesting. But the Zcash 0ne88 is not. At least, in my opinion. Why, you may ask? First of all, Zcash is a "corporate coin". It's backed and funded by a private company (Electric Coin Company). Second, it's not as "private" as we thought it would be. While "shielded transactions" were recently enforced, the protocol itself is still compatible with t_addresses. This is what centralized exchanges are using to let users deposit/withdraw ZEC. Through transparent addresses themselves, all privacy would be essentially broken. In Zcash's early days, it required a trusted setup for ZKPs to work (another unnecessary risk). And that's without mentioning the "Founder's reward" (aka as miners tax). A much better alternative was Zcoin. Based on the same tech as Zcash, but community-oriented (no company behind it). Zcoin now rebranded to FIRO and changed its privacy mechanism. It makes a nice contender against 0ne88. Anyhow, it's a "free market" so you're free to choose whichever coin serves your needs. The market will decide which one wins, and which ones get left behind in the dust.
