I am of the school of thought that the "loving your job" thing is a little bit overrated. I understand that you should like what you do or else you won't be motivated to do it, but not everybody has that luxury. Some jobs need to be done, I mean, somebody has to do that job. It's a duty; they don't need to love the job, but they have to do it. The baggage handler attendant, for example, is not a job anybody loves, but the people need to do them, and they need to do them delegently or else there will be a lot of commotion if they don't do it well. It doesn't mean they love their job, but they need to do it well because it's their duty. There is a role on a ship called the "oilers". They have one of the nastiest jobs on the ship. Nobody loves that job, but they have to do it because it has to be done, and it's a duty. My point is, not everybody can love their job, and not every job can be loved, but if you find yourself doing a job, take it as a duty and do your duty well. Even if you have a career, there are no guarantees that you will love your job, but it doesn't mean you should forget about it and start doing what you love. As long as you have an interest in what you do, do it like a duty and do it well.
