In this case, I am a bit more divided if this is FUD. Because of course, AI is becoming a common tool to optimize algorithms and thus can also help to solve engineering problems in quantum computing. However, this type of "optimizing AI" is around much longer than ChatGPT-style LLMs. Deep learning flourished already in the early 2010s. Thus it is likely that AI is being used in quantum computing development already at least since the early 2020s, possibly earlier. It can of course still accelerate due to higher computing power, but it won't be a "sudden jump". In contrast, LLMs as far as I understand, in the quantum computing domain can help primarily to create code and implement algorithms, and to check existing algorithms for weaknesses (case Claude Opus and Mythos). This means that this would help primarily for the software part. It's not impossible that a better one as Shor's algorithm will be found, but I guess there should be also a ceiling, just like conventional coding also can't transform a C64 into a modern supercomputer. QC is still governed by the laws of physic and not magic.
